Most of the Tri-State woke up to our first widespread, measurable snowfall of the season Tuesday morning.

9 First Warning Meteorologist Larry Handley says Ultimate Doppler 9 shows snowfall totals from a half an inch, up to two inches of snow, primarily in our northern counties.

OFFICIAL TOTALS:

  • CVG Airport: .70"
  • Wilmington, Ohio: 1.5"
  • Wetherington: 1.4"
  • Wyoming, Ohio: 1.2
  • Lebanon:          .6"
  • Florence:          .5"
  • Brookville:        .5"
  • Marysville:        .5"
  • Sharonville:      .5"
  • Georgetown:    .5"
  • Hamilton:         .5"
  • Hillsboro:         .4"
  • Cincinnati:       .3" .

Here is the current timeline of the storm: The Jetstream sinks into the Ohio Valley from Canada, bringing frigid temperatures today, therefore, some slick spots on the roads for your morning commute.

STORM TIMELINE:

  • Now through 10 a.m..: Clearing skies and cold temps in the 20s, with wind chill readings in the teens.
  • 10 a.m. - Noon: Sunshine returning but blustery and cold. Temperatures in the low 30s. Wind chills in the teens.
  • Noon - 4 p.m.: Mostly sunny and cold with temperatures in the mid 30s...20 degrees below average!

The average date for measurable snowfall is November 29 -- so, we are a bit ahead of schedule this year. The earliest date on record for measurable snowfall in Cincinnati was Oct. 19, 1989.

The average date of the first inch or more of snowfall is on December 14. Numerous neighborhoods in the Cincinnati area saw one inch of snow.

Morning clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine on Tuesday but it will be cold and breezy. Highs will only reach the mid-30s.

The rest of the week will be dry and we’ll slowly warm up before rain chances return this weekend and highs in the 60s by Sunday.
