CINCINNATI -- A Seton High School teacher won a $58,851 Showcase Showdown on the “The Price Is Right” last summer and kept it secret from his own kids and his students until Wednesday.
Math teacher Scott Brauch told his class his show was airing Wednesday morning and let them watch on the classroom TV. When he won, the girls erupted in screams and cheers.

The TV picture showed a jubilant Brauch leaping onto the hood of a Mini Cooper he won and shouting and raising his arms in celebration.
“We had it on in the office. Nobody knew he was going to win,” said Christy Dean Schutte, Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator. “When the principal got on the PA and announced that he won, everybody cheered.”
Brauch’s winnings also included a BMW scooter and vacations to Belize and Ecuador.
Brauch was obligated not to tell he won for 90 days – he could only say he was on the show.
His wife Rose knew because she went to the taping with him.
The Brauchs went to California with their daughter Molly, a Seton senior this year. Scott and Rose went to the “The Price Is Right” while Molly attended a workshop.
Brauch won both showcases because his estimate came within $250 of the retail price.
