When her niece died suddenly in high school, Suzanne Fitzpatrick knew she had to publish the book she dedicated to her nearly two decades earlier.
Maria Schaffstein, 17, above, was a senior at Notre Dame Academy in 2010 when she died in a car accident on her way home from spring break.
Maria Schaffstein would be a 21-year-old senior at the University of Dayton, instead her memory lives on in “A Wish Upon a Jar”, thanks to her Aunt Sue.
Maria Schaffstein would have been a senior at the Univeristy of Dayton (UD), above, with her brother Johnny and sister Anna, who is now a freshman at UD.
“Maria and I were very close,” said her aunt Suzanne Fitzpatrick, author of "A Wish Upon a Jar".
