COLERAIN TWP. -- A man and a woman are dead after a murder-suicide in Colerain Township Friday, police said.
Authorities arrived at a home in the 8400 block of Chesswood Drive in White Oak just before 4 p.m.
Officers said Maurizio Kollstedt, 43, shot 30-year-old Tabitha Windham, and then himself. Officers could not identify what their relationship was. Kollstedt was the owner of the home.
Police were called to the home when family members had not seen Kollstedt in several days. The shooting may have happened a few days earlier, investigators said.
WCPO reporter Bryce Anslinger spoke to Kenny Wohl, a neighbor who lives a couple doors down.
"Tore me up, Ritzio was a good friend," Wohl said.
He and Kollstedt rode motorcycles together. Wohl said there was no trouble with the law before, that he knew of.
"He was pretty proud of the fact that he got his conceal carry permit recently, and I'm a conceal carry holder myself and I know the background checks," Wohl said.
Kollstedt was divorced, and had a young son he saw several times during the week.
"I know he was having trouble with his girlfriend," Wohl said. "I don't know exactly what the deal was, but a few weeks ago he brought me a safe that he wanted to hold onto, he said he was afraid someone was going to break into his house."
