SPRINGDALE, Ohio -- For the second year, TriHealth 'Hope for the Holidays' program will offer free mammograms for women in need during the holiday season.
TriHealth joins with community agencies to provide mammograms for women without insurance throughout the year. December brings around the 'Hope for the Holidays' program to make things a little easier during this tight season. Last year, the program helped 48 women.
The mammograms take about 30 minutes and are free of charge to women over 40 years old with no insurance.
"We hope that by providing no-cost mammograms to women in need, who otherwise would not receive a mammogram, that we are able to lighten the burden on a few families, who may be more concerned about making ends meet rather than their own health," said Nyota Stoker, supervisor of TriHealth's mobile mammography program.
TriHealth will have a mobile mammogram station at the Healing Center on 11345 Century Circle West in Springdale on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Another mammogram stop is scheduled for Monday, December 16 at the Salvation Army at 600 Cincinnati Mills Dr. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
