SPRINGDALE, Ohio -- Police are seeking a man who allegedly hit a convenience store employee with a handgun while robbing the Springdale store.
The man walked up to the drive-thru window of the Kwik N Kold store Monday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. He asked to buy a cigar, but didn't have enough money. The worker told the man she would cover the money he was missing, a spokeswoman of the Springdale Police Department reported.
The suspect then grabbed a black semi-automatic handgun, pushed the clerk up against the register and hit her with the weapon, the spokeswoman said. The clerk opened the register, and he took an unknown amount of cash. Before he left the store, he told her to lay down and threatened to shoot her.
The suspect ran from the store, the spokeswoman said. She described the suspect as a black male with an athletic build, between 20 - 30 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.
