GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- An employee of a Mini-Mart in Green Township turned to a vacuum cleaner while the store was robbed Tuesday evening.
Police say a man entered the Bridgetown Mini-Mart in the 4200 block of Harrison Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. and threatened the staff with a large knife. The man described as about 40-years-old and dressed in jeans and a black hoodie then demanded cash.
Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil said that's when an employee picked up a vacuum cleaner and tried to fight the suspect, but the armed man ran from the store.
Employees told authorities they were unsure which direction the suspect headed, and a search following the incident was unsuccessful.
No employees were injured during the robbery, Neil said. He asked that anyone with information on the crime call investigators at (513) 852-1500 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
