The proceeds from her sales of cookies and lemonade will go toward leukemia research.
CLEVES, Ohio - A 9-year-old girl from Cleves is on a mission to raise money for Leukemia patients.
In order to raise those funds, Brooke Kamstra decided to start a lemonade stand. She says she was inspired by her cousin, Blake, who is battling cancer for the third time.
Dozens of people stopped by Saturday to contribute to the fundraising.
"I really thank them very much. It helps me a lot and all the people that help me," Brooke said. "It's really awesome that this happened. It's like a dream come true."
All proceeds from lemonade stand will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Brooke's family says her goal is to raise $5,000.
