CINCINNATI – Price Hill will hold its 23rd annual Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning with Cincinnati mayor-elect John Cranley serving as grand marshal.
Alex and Sue Vasiliou, who have operated Sebastian’s Greek restaurant for nearly 40 years in West Price Hill, are the king and queen of this year’s festivities.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. in front of Western Hills High School on Ferguson Road. It goes east on Glenway Avenue past Elder and Seton high schools to Warsaw Avenue and ends at St. Lawrence Church.
Roads will be closed from 9:45 a.m. to noon as follows:
> Ferguson Road between Ferguson Place and Glenway Avenue;
> Glenway Avenue between Sidney Road and Quebec Road;
> Warsaw Avenue between Glenway Avenue and St. Lawrence Avenue.
Metro buses will be detoured from the route.
The parade will include floats, school and church groups, clubs, community leaders and classic cars. They will begin assembling in front of Western Hills High School at 9 a.m.
Thousand of spectators are expected to line the streets.
In addition to the parade, other festivities will take place on the lawn of St. Lawrence Church and inside the Parish Center. Included will be a petting zoo, pony rides, pictures with Santa, face painting, musical entertainment by the St. Lawrence Eagles Wings Choir, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee.
