CINCINNATI – A 26-year-old woman facing abduction charges after police say she stole a vehicle with a 9-year-old boy inside is being held on $30,000 bond.
Tamara Walker was arraigned in a Hamilton County courtroom Monday.
Walker was arrested Saturday after she took a white 2013 Kia Soul parked in front of a convenience store in the 1600 block of Walnut Street. When police were called after noon, a father reported he left his young son in the car when he went into the store.
Walker dropped the boy off within the 1200 block of Vine Street before continuing to flee from police. She struck two cars as she traveled through Walnut Hills and Evanston before crashing the Kia at the intersection of East McMillan and Essex streets.
Police report Walker fled for about 5 miles before being caught. She received minor injuries and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center before being transferred to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
She was the only person injured in the incident.
Walker also faces a charge of theft and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.
