CINCINNATI -- The Rookwood Pottery Co. is opening its doors in a new location.

The 133-year-old company, specializing in handcrafted tile and pottery items, is opening in the Gateway Quarter on Jackson Street.

The former management team of Brooks Brothers downtown is taking over. Dorothy Hoofman and Sandrine Whitcomb joined Rookwood Pottery soon after the store's closing earlier this year.

"With Rookwood Pottery in full production, and with many of our customers asking for more convenient shopping hours, it makes sense to open the boutique," Hoffman said. "We can offer a more traditional shopping experience within steps of great shops and restaurants, and this historic building highlights the beauty of the product."

The new store is 1,000 sq. ft. filled with thousands of pieces, including its soon-to-be-released Rookwood Pottery stein.

The Rookwood Pottery Company Store will be open Mondays through Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store can be reached at 513-579-1209.
