Police: Man shot after walking into attempted robbery in Mount Airy

CINCINNATI -- Police say a man was driven to Mercy Mount Airy Hospital early Thursday morning with gunshot wounds after walking into an attempted robbery inside of his residence.

The incident happened at about 3 a.m. in the 2700 block of W. North Bend Road, according to officials.

Police say the 39-year-old man was shot after witnessing his home being ransacked by robbers.

The victim was later taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the location of the shooting had a incident in 2012.
