CINCINNATI – Police charged a 27-year-old mother with trying to drown her baby on New Year's Eve.
Cincinnati police officers were called to the apartment of Jessica Whitehead, 27, in the 1600 block of Walnut Street in Over-the-Rhine at 5 a.m. Dec. 31 where they found her child floating in a bathtub. Emergency responders transported the infant to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Whitehead was transported for treatment at an area hospital as well.
She was arrested for attempted murder. The homicide unit continues to investigate the incident.
