CINCINNATI – Downtown bibliophiles rejoice!
Cincinnati’s newest bookstore and café, Booksellers on Fountain Square, will celebrate its official grand opening with a two-day event Oct. 4-5.
The grand opening celebration at the former Brooks Brothers store will include 20 percent off of everything in the store, including books, games, pottery, trinkets, T-shirts, kids toys and more.
“We’re thrilled to officially open our doors to our fellow Cincinnatians this weekend for our grand opening,” said Neil Van Uum, owner of the store and downtown resident.
“Our core team members are all veteran booksellers, with an average of 17 years of book experience among us. The Booksellers on Fountain Square is truly a labor of love for all of us, and we can’t wait to share our passion for books with our neighbors and friends.”
The owners of the store hope to place an emphasis on the local literary community. On Saturday, four local authors will discuss and sign their works.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
- Heinrich Tolzmann discussing and signing "The Over the Rhine Tour Guide" and "Christian Moerlein: The Man and his Brewery"
- Jim LaBarbara discussing and signing "Jim LaBarbara: The Music Professor"
- Randy McNutt discussing and signing "Ghosts: Ohio's Haunted Landscapes" and "Lost Ohio: More Travels into Haunted Landscapes, Ghost Towns, and Forgotten Lives"
From noon to 1 p.m.
- Robert Webster will discuss and sign "The Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire"
During the grand opening weekend the store is offering its visitors free coffee from a coffee roaster from Lavazza, Italy and kids will enjoy free cupcakes. In addition, registration will be open for the chance to win a $300 gift card to the store.
