6 transported to local hospital after 2-car collision on Paddock Road

CINCINNATI -- Six people were taken to a local hospital Saturday night after a two-car accident in Bond Hill.

The wreck occurred about 8:10 p.m. in the 4600 block of Paddock Road, just north of Tennessee Avenue, when a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Malibu crossed the center line and struck a 1995 Honda Accord, according to a release from the Cincinnati Police Department. A dispatcher confirmed to WCPO that one of the two vehicles flipped onto its top as a result of the collision.

The driver of the Malibu, 22-year-old Justin Brown, and all four of his passengers were extricated from the vehicle by crews from the Cincinnati Fire Department. They were all taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.

As of early Sunday morning, Brown and Ladre Thomas, 20, are in stable condition, according to the release. The release indicates the other three passengers -- Jereua Conyers, 20; Jaqua Bryant, 20; and a 17-year-old -- are listed in serious condition.

The driver of the Accord, Laverne Thomas, 54, was also taken to UCMC for treatment. She was listed in stable condition as of early Sunday morning, according to the release.

A stretch of Paddock Road was shut down for more than an hour while crews attended to the injured parties and cleared the wreckage.

Investigators stated in the release that they believe "impairment" played a role in the crash but did not provide any additional on the cause or if charges are expected to be filed.

No other information is available at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.
