Groundbreaking ceremony for Cincinnati Police Department's new District 3 building

CINCINNATI -- A new era begins Monday for the Cincinnati Police Department.

The department has outgrown their building on Warsaw Avenue and will break ground Monday for the new District 3 headquarters located at 2300 Ferguson Road. The new location will replace the previous headquarters built in 1930.

The building will be twice the size of the current facility with more than 39 thousand square feet and include a public plaza.

Future plans also include a neighborhood bike trail.

District 3 serves 14 neighborhood’s on Cincinnati’s West Side, including East Price Hill, East Westwood, English Woods, Lower Price Hill, Millvale, North Fairmount, Riverside, Roll Hill, Sayler Park, Sedamsville, South Cumminsville, South Fairmount, West Price Hill and Westwood.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. at the building's future site.
