HAMILTON, Ohio -- More than 20 people were evacuated from an apartment complex in Hamilton Thursday night after a blaze ripped through the building.

The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. in a downstairs apartment of the complex located on Hampshire Drive, according to officials.

A man and his baby were able to escape from the apartment and alert a neighbor to call 911.

Hamilton fire crews responded to the building, battling the blaze for nearly two hours. They were able to contain the fire and save the structure.

Nine people were displaced from their homes due to the fire and smoke damage. No injuries were reported.

Total estimate for damages is $50,000.
