Finneytown High School reopened after non-emergency lockdown

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio – A report of a burglary in progress on Huffman Court triggered a non-emergency shutdown of Finneytown High School Monday morning.

Springfield Township police report three suspects were taken into custody after a search in the neighborhood near the school.

Police asked Finneytown be put on the non-emergency lockdown as a precautionary measure doing the investigation.

Shawn Maus, communications director with Finneytown Local Schools, confirmed Springfield Township police made the request at 11 a.m. By noon the lockdown was lifted.

The victim in the burglary told police he was pistol whipped. He knew the three suspects arrested.

Maus said a message was sent out to parents and their was no sign of immediate danger to students.
