CINCINNATI -- Law enforcement officials are investigating an armed robbery that took place Thursday night at a BP gas station in Green Township.

The robbery took place at about 6 p.m. at the gas station in the 3200 block of North Bend Road.

Investigators say the suspect entered the store and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun to the employees before ordering them to open the cash register and remain still. The suspect then emptied the register and fled out the front door with an undetermined amount of cash, investigators say.

Witnesses told deputies they saw the suspect get into the passenger side of a silver or charcoal Ford Focus that was driven by someone else. The vehicle then exited the parking lot and traveled westbound on North Bend Road.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, wearing a black undershirt underneath a black denim jacket, blue denim pants, a black hat with writing on the front and sunglasses.

Surveillance footage was not immediately available.

Officials with the sheriff's office and the Green Township Police Department are conducting the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office at 513-851-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
