CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati State Technical Community College and various other institutions are closed Tuesday due to the extreme cold weather.
Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Northern Kentucky University are still scheduled to hold regular classes.
Highs Tuesday will climb to about 8 degrees by the afternoon, but gusts of up to 20 mph will keep the wind chill temperatures from -15 to -25 degrees throughout the day.

The College of Medicine and the Hoxworth Blood Center do not close for winter weather, according to the University of Cincinnati website.

In addition to those universities and colleges, various other schools and businesses in southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and eastern Indiana have closed or delayed opening Tuesday.
