Joseph Porter: Alcohol suspected in serious Clermont County wreck, police say

JACKSON TWP., Ohio - One person suffered serious injuries Sunday night when their car went off the road and overturned in Clermont County.

The crash happened at about 10:10 p.m. on State Route 131 west of Bucktown Road in Jackson Township.

Joseph Porter, 40, of Sardina was driving a 1999 Ford E150 van westbound on State Route 131 when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

OSP investigators say the vehicle then struck a culvert and a driveway before overturning. The van came to a stop when it rolled upright in a yard.

Porter was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by helicopter. His injuries are described as serious.

Porter was the only person in the vehicle.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, according to the OSP.

The crash is still under investigation.
