BATAVIA, Ohio – A mother and daughter died Monday morning after the car they were in ran off a road and struck a tree.
Crystal Rump, 18, and Cindy Rump, 42, both of Williamsburg, Ohio were pronounced dead on the scene of the crash that occurred on State Route 133 near Ashton Road and May Apple Drive at 8:51 a.m.
Crystal Rump was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am south on SR 133 when she lost control of the vehicle going into a curve. The Pontiac ended up in a ditch, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Neither Rump was wearing a seatbelt, according to a preliminary investigation.
Alcohol or Drug impairment did not appear to contribute to the crash, police added. The incident remains under investigation.
