CINCINNATI -- A gala will be held Thursday to celebrate Cincinnati’s long beer history.
The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Horseshoe Casino and all proceeds will go toward the Brewery District Urban Redevelopment Corporation's effort to create and support Cincinnati's Brewing Heritage Trail.
The ball will feature 1800s style street merchant artisans, pretzel makers and others offering food tastings. It was also feature the inaugural tapping of the Gambrinus Stock Lager and other craft beers.
The event will include live music, cigar tastings and a silent auction of original brewery heritage themed artwork.
"The late 1800s was the Golden Era for Cincinnati's brewing heritage," said Greg Hardman, president of the board of trustees for the Brewery District and CEO of Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. "We hope to bring back the excitement of that time with the Beer Baron Ball while raising money for a great cause to launch the Brewing Heritage Trail in Over-the-Rhine and downtown Cincinnati."
