Cincinnati man indicted on multiple robbery, kidnapping charges

WARREN COUNTY, Ohio -- A man is being held in the Montgomery County Jail who faces multiple charges stemming from a robbery and kidnapping spree in September.

According to the indictment handed down Tuesday in Warren County, 33-year-old Julian King, Jr. robbed four hotels in nearby cities, including Springboro, Middletown, Franklin and Mason. During at least one robbery, King used a firearm, according to the indictment.

King hit each hotel between September 3 and September 9. In an incident on September 5, King entered a Middletown Days Inn just before 4 p.m. King's next stop happened around 4:20 at the Quail Inn on Williams C. Good Boulevard. It was there, police said that King threatened to shoot the clerk, but showed no weapon.

He took an unknown amount of money from the register, then drove away in a sedan. Middletown police said later that King may have committed more similar crimes.

He is being charged with three counts of kidnapping, four counts of robbery and one count of attempted kidnapping.
