MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Middletown police arrested a man Tuesday they say shot his pregnant girlfriend in her hand early Monday morning.
Police arrested Anthony Saylor, 25, after chasing him near Lafayette Avenue and Yankee Road in Middletown at about 3:40 p.m.
Saylor, of Rufus Street, was charged with felonious assault (a second-degree felony), possessing weapons while under disability (a third-degree felony), resisting arrest and criminal trespassing.
Police say he shot Chelsie Peck, 23, of Rufus Street, at her home at about 2 a.m. Monday. Authorities said Peck is seven months pregnant.
Saylor has been in court for a number of charges, including illegal assembly of chemicals to make methamphetamine, violating a protection order, carrying a concealed weapon, domestic violence and felonious assault.
Peck was treated for her wound.
