Woman critically injured in Mount Orab crash

MOUNT ORAB, Ohio -- A 64-year-old woman was critically inured Thursday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash in Mount Orab.

The crash happened at about 5 p.m. on State Route 32 when a 1999 Dodge Ram driven by Zonnie Holbrook, 73, of West Union, struck a 2004 Ford Freestar driven by Jerome Lanpheare, 66, of Lynchburg.

Lanpheare was driving south on Bodman Road, attempting to cross the four lanes of State Route 32, when he was hit. Both vehicles veered to the corner of the intersection, hitting a 2012 Toyota Corolla driven by Kimberly Gavey, 31, of Williamsburg.

Lanpheare's front seat passenger, Geraldine Lanpheare, sustained serious injuries in the crash. She was taken to Mercy Health-Mount Orab Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

She was later flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.

Jerome Lanpheare was also taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Gavey and Holbrook sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Police say all involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor.
