CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati dentist is trying to get kids to give up that Halloween candy and help soldiers overseas at the same time.
Rogers Family Dentistry is having its annual Cash 4 Candy buyback event.
Erstwhile trick-or-treaters can turn in their sweet treats at the dentistry office at 8284 Beechmont Ave. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
Families can get $1 per pound of candy and win goodie bags and raffle prizes while there.
All that candy won’t just be melted down. Rogers Family Dentistry is shipping all that candy off to the men and women serving around the world.
Rodgers isn’t the only office in town offering a buyback. Many dentistry offices follow the practice after Halloween.
For instance, the Bell Dental Group at 2767 Erie Ave. will have a buyback event on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Some of the candy will be went to troops overseas and the rest will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
Families are urged to contact their local dentist to find out if they are taking part.
