Man injured in Hamilton pistol-whipping

HAMILTON, Ohio -- A man was pistol whipped in the head during an attack Monday evening in which his car was stolen.

Hamilton police said the man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in the incident that happened at approximately 9:39 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of South 12th Street.

Police have identified the suspect as Reginald Palmer, 29, of Middletown. 

The attack was first reported as a shooting, however, officers determined during the investigation that during the attack the gun went off but the victim was not hit.

Police said they are looking for a four-door purple 1998 Oldsmobile with the license plate FZM 7532. No other details have been released.
