P&G donates $1 million to job creation in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble Co. donated $1 million to REDI Cincinnati, the region’s leading economic development initiative.

The money will be donated over the course of the next three years.

REDI will use the funds to attract businesses and create jobs.

A P&G spokesman said the company increased their donation with the hopes that others would as well.

As of June 1, REDI Cincinnati and the group’s community partners say they have created 2,471 new jobs, retained 3,011 more jobs, and created $131M in capital investment in 2014.

“I’m very pleased with our fast start this year, and firmly believe that’s an early sign of what enhanced collaboration can do between our team, JobsOhio, our community partners and investors,” said Johnna Reeder, President & CEO of REDI Cincinnati. Reeder began her role with REDI Cincinnati on May 1. “The GE announcement earlier this year grabbed many of the headlines, but we are repeatedly producing significant results with companies of all sizes, because every job and every dollar matter to our region,” she added.
