MASON, Ohio -- Mason-based ConnXus announced Wednesday a new, first-of-its-kind partnership for the growing company.
The San Diego-based Council for Supplier Diversity has chosen ConnXus to help the council grow its reach and expand business opportunities for its members and corporate buyers.
The ConnXus website connects corporations with women- and minority-owned companies that can do work for them. The idea is to help women- and minority-owned companies grow and to help the corporations cut costs and boost their own supplier diversity.
The company's corporate customers include such giants as McDonald's and Coca-Cola Co.
The relationship with the San Diego council is different, however. ConnXus will help the organization manage supplier diversity and marketing for its 200 minority and service-disabled veteran businesses and its more than 50 corporate members.
The deal will offer those members access to thousands of suppliers and buyers in the ConnXus database.
"The ConnXus database will allow us to leverage our relationships to communicate up, down and sideways," Council CEO Ronald Garnett said in a news release. "Simply put, we need to grow the pie to help our members broaden their business relationships and create wealth."
ConnXus Chief Operating Officer Daryl Hammett said in the release that the partnership holds great promise.
"The Council shares our own philosophy that supplier diversity drives economic development, and that if we assist in the expansion of diverse businesses, we will have a positive impact, block by block, city by city and throughout the nation."
