Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets recalled over soy ingredient

Velveeta macaroni is being pulled from supermarket shelves across the country due to mislabeling.

Truitt Brothers is recalling 1.77 million pounds of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles "Ultimate cheeseburger mac" for failing to identify soy as an ingredient, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The label doesn't mention hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, which are allergens.

"The inaccurate labeling is the only thing wrong with the product," Kraft Foods spokeswoman Joyce Hodel, told CNN. "If an individual has no allergies or sensitivities to soy, then the product is perfectly safe to consume."

The recall applies to packets with a sale date up to October 23, 2014.
