If you didn't catch all five or six Rocky movies on Netflix over the past few months, we have some bad news for you:
Rocky has just been knocked out.
Netflix this week did its semi-annual purging, removing 79 movies from its lineup, but adding 45 news ones.
That's according to the website The Daily Dot, which lists some other popular movies now gone from Netflix.
Movies gone as of this week include:
- Rocky I -V.
- From Russia With Love
- The Terminator
- Start Trek: The Wrath of Khan
- Beavis and Butt-head do America
But the new movies just added include:
- Basic Instinct
- Eight Men Out
- The Hunt for Red October
Ghandi and Philadelphia are both Academy Award winners, though they don't have quite the fan base as Rocky.
The good news for Stallone fans: Rocky will return in August to the streaming lineup, according to Variety. The Rocky saga is one of Netflix' most requested series of movies.
Why the Changes
There are two reasons for the change.
1. Netflix has only a certain amount of space for streaming. It cannot stream its entire DVD library of thousands of movies.
2. It has to pay for the rights to movies, which is why you won't find it streaming new releases.
You may find it hard to believe they actually had to pay for the rights to air Beavis and Butt-head do America, but they did. Heh heh heh. Dude.
As always don't waste your money.
