If you fondly look back on your breakfasts from the 1970's or 1980's, you probably remember those spooky General Mills cereals like Count Chocula, Booberry, and Frankenberry.
The good news: You will be able to relive your golden childhood mornings from now until Halloween.
5 Monster Cereals Return
General Mills will return their big 3 spooky cereals to store shelves this fall (yes, they have done that several times in recent years).
But for the first time ever they'll also bring back 2 others: Yummy Mummy and Frute Brute.
The werewolf-faced Frute Brute hasn't been seen in 25 years (unless you have held onto a box for that long, in which case you probably should not eat it).
Oh, and they have changed the name from "Fruit Brute" to "Frute Brute," because the word fruit does not go over well on cereals that have no fruit in them these days. That shows you how times have changed.
Purists Should Shop Target
The cereals will be at most grocery stores, though if you are a purist, you may want to shop at Target.
Grocery store versions will have new cover art. Target will sell replicas of the original boxes, for purists who want to relive that glory year of 1983 (or was it 1986?).
Oh, and these remakes will not have toys inside. The sugar buzz you get should be enough.
Whatever cereal you like, don't waste your money.
