CINCINNATI – For holiday shoppers who want their spending to support a good cause 4th Street Boutique fits the bill.
Located in downtown Cincinnati at 209 W. 4th Street, 4th Street Boutique is a high-end yet affordable retail shop filled with new and gently used women’s clothing, jackets and accessories.
Not only are the clothes affordable, but they also support a great cause: Dress for Success Cincinnati. Dress for Success Cincinnati’s mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, support and career development tools. All the proceeds from the boutique support the program and allow women to enter the workforce again.
4th Street Boutique opened in 2002 and now has two locations, the recently relocated store on the first floor of the Textiles building at 209 W. 4th St. and also in College Hill located at 5838 Hamilton Ave .
The shop may just have a far less costly alternative for holiday party attire.
I went to 4th Street’s downtown location and found several head-to-toe options that were under $50.
This beautiful black dress mixed with a gold brocade jacket, gold shoes and an eye-catching statement necklace was about $50. However, keep in mind that the store has many sales throughout the year with up to 50 percent off select merchandise.
The second outfit pictured here shows just how affordable nice designer clothing can be. The black sequined top was $8. The dress underneath it was $15 and the necklace – just $8.
The everyday price list is as follows unless marked otherwise although sales could take the prices even lower:
• Tops, Bottoms and Sweaters: $8.00 • Accessories such as Belts, Purses, Scarves, Hates and Jewelry: $8.00 • Shoes: $12.00 • Jackets, Blazers and Dresses: $15.00 • Two-piece Outfits: $15.00 • Suits: $25.00
It’s worth noting that the shop often has sales with the next one taking place next week offering shoppers an opportunity to save money, shop local, look fabulous and support a great cause that has an even greater impact on our community.
