Matthew 25: Ministries sends team to Colorado with supplies for flooding victims

BLUE ASH, Ohio – A disaster relief team with Matthew 25: Ministries left the Tri-State Sunday morning to deliver supplies to flood victims in Colorado.

The team loaded five trucks with supplies that included blankets, water, personal care products and cleaning supplies. They also shipped a portable ice machine that can produce 12,000 pounds of ice per day.

"Obviously ice is a very important thing and we also have an infiltration system on it. There are a lot of boil advisories going on right now so we are able to filter water and give clean drinking water," said Tim Mettey, CEO of Matthew 25: Ministries.

Mettey expected to arrive in Longmont, Colo., on Monday morning, where his group will face the big challenge of getting supplies to the victims.

"Normally it's a 40-minute drive from Longmont to where we are going to be staging. Now it's going to be three to four hours because a lot of the roads are completely washed out," Mettey said.

Matthew 25: Ministries is looking for volunteers. The organization is also asking the public for donations.
