World premiere concerto and special moment at Memorial Hall

CINCINNATI -- Local classical music fans were treated to the world premiere performance of a violin concerto Thursday night at Memorial Hall.

The Cincinnati Symphony Music Laurete, Paavo Jarvi , and Constella Festival founding director Tatianna Berman reunited for the special event.

The concerto was composed by Charles Coleman especially for Berman. The performance, which began at 7:30 p.m., was preceded by an art exhibit.

Part of the Third Annual Constella Festival of Fine Arts , the concert will benefit musicians and artists in Greater Cincinnati.

The Constella Festival takes place at various venues through the Tri-State until Nov. 7 with the finale by violin superstar Joshua Bell.

The festival presents 20 concerts at 15 Cincinnati venues including world-premiere music and dance works, children’s concerts, workshops, and master classes, according to the festival's website . Most Constella events feature art exhibitions and collaborations by prominent Cincinnati artists and art galleries, including the Cincinnati Art Museum, Carl Solway Gallery and Brazee Street Studios.
