WCPO Digital's Matt Peiken spent this weekend meeting local bands and catching their performances at the 2013 Bunbury Festival.

Over the next two weeks, we will showcase many of these artists through the ongoing WCPO video series "Rocket Queen," which spotlights local performing, visual and literary artists creating original work.

Here, "Rocket Queen" profiles singer-songwriter Mia Carruthers, who gained fame nationally five years ago through MTV’s reality series “Taking the Stage.”

Now, at 22, she's driven to carve a fresh identity. She said her 2013 Bunbury Festival gig is her last as Mia Carruthers.

Take a listen and a look.
