Over nine seasons, veteran actor Bruce Cromer finds the humor as Playhouse's Scrooge

Performer allowing comedy to come from the story

CINCINNATI - Bruce Cromer is a master of Shakespearean stage works, theater professor at Wright State University, near Dayton and an active performer on professional stages throughout the Midwest.

At this time of year, audiences in Cincinnati know him chiefly as Ebenezer Scrooge, the cantankerous old miser who can't be bothered with Christmas until he is paid visits by three ghosts who show him just how wrong he is.

This is Cromer's ninth straight year in the spotlight role of “A Christmas Carol” through Playhouse in the Park . In this company rehearsal, Cromer discusses his evolution as Scrooge and how the role feeds him as an actor.
