Fort Thomas theater group hatching a 'Swan Lake' of a different feather

Young women building show from the ground up

Fort Thomas, Ky. - With Caroline Stine, you never know what you’ll see on stage. Neither does she.

The Fort Thomas native practices and teaches devised theater -- work created by the entire company during rehearsals. She began producing original shows 16 years ago from her family’s backyard. The Cliffview Players are now a summer youth staple, and her new company, In Bocca Performance, is a spinoff focusing on more mature themes.

In Bocca debuts this holiday season with an original take on the “Swan Lake” story, created largely by the teen girls who make up the cast. In this video, we step into a rehearsal early in the creative process and talk with Stine about the risks and challenges of breaking from holiday tradition.
