BrewProf: MadTree Brewing eyes even bigger expansion

Big things are brewing at MadTree. Besides cranking out a bunch of new beer recipes, the brewers at MadTree are aiming to satisfy increased market and refine their taproom experience.

This means more tanks, more cans, more food, and more beer are in the works.

Production Upgrades

They continue to be overwhelmed by the thirsty people of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Columbus. Thus, it’s time for new fermentation tanks.

Yes, tanks plural – as in four new tanks.

Apparently they have room for a couple more on the pad after this but that will be awfully cramped.

They anticipate cranking out 19,000 barrels per year (just over 260,000 cases) next year. As a point of reference, this is about the same capacity that Clown Shoes did in 2013.

They are also picking up some modifications for “Canny Rogers,” their beloved canning line. It is pretty unglamorous stuff like a depalletizer but it means more cans per hour to get their bright colored beacons of hope out the door.

Taproom Upgrade

The food options will soon be changing as they have signed a deal for a permanent vendor on-site. I don’t have a specific name to share but expect the operation to involve wood fired pizzas.

Beers On the Horizon

Also, you may have seen some pictures on social media of the Listermann crew meeting with MadTree last week. A collaboration beer is definitely in the works.

Preliminary recipe formulation looks like they will brew a gose, but this is still subject to change. Either way, this is good news for Cincinnati beer fans.

Bottling line?

Have you ever had dreams about a wax-dipped MadTree bottle?

Well we just may see some bottles in the future from Ohio’s first craft canning brewery .

They have a ton of sours and barrel aged beers laying around the brewery so they are thinking about picking up a bottling line to release some killer bottle series.
