For the first time this season, the remaining couples on “Dancing with the Stars” must dance not one, but two dances this week.
First up, each couple will perform their individual dance, then they will take part in what’s called the “switch-up challenge.”
Don’t let the weird name throw you; we’ve seen this before. The switch-up challenge puts all the couples on the floor at the same time, dancing side by side. They do not know what the dance style or song will be until the performance. Then, the judges will eliminate them one-by-one, and the last couple left on the floor gets the most extra points tacked on to their score at the end of the night.
Mason native and actor Brant Daugherty and Peta are touching up a tango. Brant’s excited, tweeting, “Catch a brand new episode of #DWTS tomorrow night to see @petamurgatroyd and I perform our tango! http://instagram.com/p/ftMzL_MyI4/ .”
For their individual dance, Disney star Corbin Bleu and Karina will do a Viennese waltz. Hinting at his dance, Corbin tweeted, “Here is a fun little treat for all you soap fans out there #DWTS Style #OLTL #SoapOperaDigest ... http://fb.me/YAoTXaGd .”
Actress Amber Riley and Derek are working on a samba. Not sure how bad her knee injury still is, but Amber tweeted, “I did it!!! Cryotherapy cold doesnt even begin to describe that torture chamber hahahaha no it… http://instagram.com/p/frQZl0M_yB/ .”
Actress Elizabeth Berkley and Val are rehearsing a cha cha. This is a change of pace for them, but so far, they have had no problems adapting to different styles with their great chemistry.
Reality star Jack Osbourne and Cheryl have a paso doble.
Actress Leah Remini and Tony are working on a quickstep. Leah tweeted about Tony, posting, “I have the sweetest partner ever tonydovolani . Look what I got! Doesn't take much to make me happy :)… http://instagram.com/p/fssfZLNQZr/ .”
Comedian Bill Engvall and Emma are rehearsing a tango. Bill revealed a hint about his dance, tweeting, “Get ready for a redneck tango friends. It's gonna be awesome. #engvalldwts @EmmaSlaterDance @DancingABC .”
One star will be eliminated at the end of Monday night’s show. It’s tough to say who, but look to lower-scoring stars Jack, Leah or Bill. Last week, highest-scoring star Christina Milian was eliminated in a jaw-dropping surprise elimination.
See who gets eliminated Monday night at 8:00 Eastern on ABC.
