CINCINNATI - Everyone thinks their dog is a "one in a million" pooch, but this weekend you'll have the chance to prove it at the River Downs Dog Day of Summer.
If your dog has a special talent or something unique, River Downs is holding several canine contests, including talent, costume, look-a-like and ugliest pooch, in which you can show off your fury friend.
This year marks the first River Downs Dog Day of Summer, which takes place Saturday Aug. 25. Dogs are welcome in the east end of the grandstand and the event is open to all breeds.
Horse racing begins at 1:30 p.m. In order for you dog to be entered into a contest, you must register in the Tent Pavilion, starting at 3 p.m. Judging takes place after the last live horse race of the day.
After the contests a dog jog (or walk if you prefer) will take place around the historic River Downs one mile track around 6 p.m.
The Sonny Moorman Group will then provided a free concert later in the evening.
Participants can enjoy free demonstrations and get tips on pet care.
Admission is free.
