Actress JULIANNE MOORE snubbed an invitation to attend a party for royals PRINCE WILLIAM and CATHERINE, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE to head for Disneyland and celebrate her newly-won British citizenship instead.
The Hours star's mother was Scottish and the actress was granted dual British/U.S. nationality in 2011, and she was shocked when the development prompted an invitation to party with the royal couple.
Moore was flattered to be asked along after she was previously told U.S. citizens were ineligible for the event - but she eventually snubbed the invite and enjoyed a fun evening at a theme park in California instead.
She tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "That was the day there was a garden party for William and Kate. As an American I couldn't go, but as soon as I was sworn in (as a British citizen) I had an invitation. Being an American at heart, I thanked them for the invite but went to Disneyland instead!"
