If you work or travel through downtown, expect delays and road closures starting Friday morning.

For the first time ever, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is shutting down roads at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Organizers say due to growing attendance, what was a two-day event is now a three-day event.

Road closures will start at the intersection of Fifth Street and Vine Street. Police will also start shutting down Walnut Street, Main Street and Sycamore Street between Fourth Street and Sixth Street.

All parking garages located on Fourth and Sixth streets will remain open as usual.

Officers will be on location to help drivers stuck by the closures.

The closures will last through the weekend and roads should be reopened by 6 a.m. Monday.
