COVINGTON, Ky. – Authorities closed the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge early Sunday morning due to a thin layer of ice forming on its metal decking.
Drivers were asked to find alternate routes across the river. It was unclear when the bridge would be reopened.
The Tri-State was under a winter storm warning. A mix of rain, sleet, and snow was expected to fall throughout Sunday. The region was expected to see four to seven inches of snow by 1 p.m. Monday when the warning expired.
