COVINGTON, Ky. - An accident involving several semi tractor trailers caused southbound I-71/75 to close to traffic at the Cut in the Hill for more than two hours Tuesday morning.

The semis crashed at about 4:25 a.m. at the Cut in the Hill, which caused officials to close the roadway. A tractor trailer leaked fuel following the crash, which caused officials to full close the interstate so they could clean the spill.

Commuters were stuck in traffic until the road reopened at 6:55 a.m.

Officials have not released any additional details about the accident at this time.

Another issue caused some slow downs in the area. A landslide caused East McMillan Street to close at West McMicken. Street crews are working to clear the landslide to allow for traffic flow again.
