FORT MITCHELL, Ky. - A Boone County grand jury indicted David Dooley, 38, in the kidnapping and murder of Fort Mitchell mother Michelle Mockbee Tuesday morning.
Mockbee's sisters, Jennifer Schneider and Cindy Whalen reacted to the indictment.
"We want to know what happened to her," Schneider said. "No matter how painful that may be to hear, we want to know, just so we can kind of move on."
Schneider may be one step closer to getting her questions answered.
The Boone County grand jury indicted Dooley with kidnapping, adding onto his original counts of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
"We're relieved to hear that the indictment was handed down, and justice will be served for Michelle," Schneider said.
According to Boone County Commonwealth's Attorney Linda Tally Smith, murder plus a kidnapping charge could make Dooley eligible for the death penalty.
"We still may have a long road ahead of us, we're still a strong tight knit family, whatever happens we'll be right there to support each other throughout this," Schneider said.
"We loved Michelle very much," Whalen said. "She did not deserve this and we just want everyone to know what happened. When we get the details we just want everything to be public."
Smith said it could take several months to determine whether the death penalty will be an option.
