MADEIRA, Ohio - Silverton police have made an arrest in a robbery and shooting of a Madeira store owner.
Police arrested William Hart, 37, for allegedly robbing Madeira Beverage, located in the 6000 block of Kenwood Road, and shooting the store owner, Roop Gupta, on Sept. 5.
As Hart fled the store following the robbery, police say he fired four rounds from a small black pistol. Gupta, 60, was hit once in the abdomen. Gupta was taken to University Hospital where he was stabilized.
Det . Tim Vogel told 9 News that a gun and clothes that linked Hart to the robbery were found in his hotel room.
"We got a couple of tips and a couple of names," said Det. Vogel. "We tracked him with the cooperation of several agencies to the Gateway Hotel on Reading Road in Cincinnati."
Hart was pulled over Saturday in Golf Manor on a traffic violation and was arrested.
Hart was just released from prison in January.
A Hamilton County grand jury charged him with two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault and one count of weapons under disability.
Hart was also charged with a Sept. 11 robbery of a store on Plainville Road in Columbia Township.
