ST. LOUIS -- Retired quarterback Brett Favre was reportedly contacted by the St. Louis Rams, and asked to hit the football field.

The Rams' starting quarterback Sam Bradford suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported. An MRI taken Sunday night showed Bradford's injuries were severe enough to end his season.

So who takes his place?

A report from the Huffington Post on Thursday morning said the Rams called Favre's agent after Bradford went down.

However, the 44-year-old retiree turned them down. According to the Huffington Post, Favre hasn't played since December 2010, and has no intentions of changing that. He spoke with Andy Pollin and Jonny Saraceno on Washington D.C.'s SportsTalk 570 Thursday morning.

"I've had enough," Favre said in the interview. "I had enough a long time ago."

The Huffington Post said during the interview, Favre said he'd received similar calls in the past when he was asked to once again put on a jersey.

"It's flattering, but there's no way I'm going to do that," Favre said in the interview.

According to a tweet from Saraceno, Favre said he'd never play football again.
