WHO: University of Windsor Lancers (0-0-0) at No. 2 Miami RedHawks (0-0-0).
WHERE: Cady Arena, Oxford, Ohio.
WHEN: Saturday, 8:05 p.m.
MIAMI RADIO: None.
NOTES: Not a lot to say here, other than this is a fantastic opportunity for all of the RedHawks to showcase their talents.
Especially the freshmen, who are obviously vying for playing time.
There’s not many newsworthy players to write about when talking about Windsor – Canadian colleges allow players who have played in Canadian junior to play on their teams.
That means their rosters consist of players who exhausted their juniors eligibility and couldn’t cut it in the pros.
Funny note: Last season Miami played Western Ontario in its exhibition. Josh Unice, one of goalies that led the Kitchener Rangers to the 2007-08 Memorial Cup, was the goalie in that game.
This year, Parker Van Buskirk, who was the other goalie on that team, will likely take the ice against the RedHawks.
